Rental Terms Summary

The Milwaukie Community Center can be rented to individuals or organizations subject to availability. Preference is given to extended term renters.

Extended term renters (who sign a contract for regular use for a period of six months or longer) MAY RECEIVE A CONSIDERABLY DISCOUNTED RATE. For more information, email Milwaukie Community Center Information or call 503-654-4503 and leave a message.

Rental COSTS (Six hour minimum time, with half hour setup and half hour cleanup) A fully refundable deposit will be added to your rental fee (see below)

The rental fees below apply for SATURDAYS AFTER 5:00 P.M. Use of alcohol adds $100 to the rental fee

Entire building: $600
Ballroom only (includes access to basement restrooms $350
Basement only (includes the kitchen) $250

The rental fees below apply for all other times. Use of alcohol adds $100 to the rental fee

Entire building: $400

Ballroom only (includes access to basement restrooms): $300)

Basement, which includes the Kitchen: $200

Refundable DEPOSITS and conditions for ALCOHOL USE

A refundable deposit of $1,000 shall be paid at the time a contract is signed (NO ALCOHOL!)

WITH ALCOHOL USE, WE REQUIRE (1) PREAPPROVAL, (2) A WRITTEN AGREEMENT ADDED TO YOUR CONTRACT, (3) AN ADDITIONAL $100 DEPOSIT, (4) $1 million insurance endorsement naming Milwaukie Community Center as beneficiary. It must be presented at the same time if you want to use alcohol. If the building is in TOTALLY satisfactory condition after rental, deposit will be returned within 14 business days. Damage, repair, cleanup etc., which exceeds the $1,000 deposit shall result in a bill to be presented to the renter, who must accept such appraisement as final. We will go to Small Claims Court if necessary. Major damage, destruction, or violation of terms of the contract will result in all loss of claim for the $1,000 deposit, even if the total does not reach $1,000.

In order to reserve a date, you must sign a contract and pay your deposit and rental fee. Remember, if you break the conditions of the contract, your entire $1,000 deposit will be forfeited. No alcohol (even if approved inside the building) or drugs can be used on the building grounds or parking lot. No smoking inside the building or right outside the doors. Be sure to pick up butts left on the grounds and parking lot. Take them with you! Do not dispose of them inside the building because of potential fire hazard.

REMEMBER, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BEHAVIOR OF YOUR GUESTS.

Rental CONDITIONS:

No illegal drugs inside the building or on the grounds.
No smoking or tobacco products
No drinks or refreshments in the ballroom
All functions shall be ended by 12:30 a.m. unless written permission is obtained in advance
Material cannot be removed from the walls, windows or floors unless written permission is given in advance by the building manager. Nails cannot be used. Nothing can be pinned or tacked to the ballroom burlap wall panels.
Decorations cannot be hung from the ceiling unless written permission is given in advance by the building manager. Tape cannot be applied to the ceiling.

Cancellation prior to 30 days before use date shall include a full refund of both rent and cleaning deposit. After that, only the cleaning deposit shall be refunded.

Rental does not include the furnishing of linens, dishes, silverware, small appliances, or kitchen paper products.

All decorations and garbage must be removed. Failure shall reduce the amount of your refundable deposit.
Renters shall make no unlawful, improper, or offensive use of the premises.
Maximum occupancy shall not exceed limits posted inside the building by the Fire Marshall.
